About

I was born in Quebec, Canada and although I knew science was what I would major in,  I yearned for a fulfilling physical and philosophical practice. I started with Karate, which I practiced for 7 years. I enjoyed the discipline, the sequences and the meditation but the sparing I could of done without.  I found Tai Chi and learnt three different forms and continued with QiGong and Capoeira. Although I loved these practices, there was still something missing. In 2007, I met my husband and thanks to our lover's sojourns I discovered Lululemon's free Sunday morning classes - being a college student I jumped on the opportunity of a free class.

As soon as I stepped onto the mat, it felt right. When the class was over, I knew I was one day going to teach yoga - I even went up to the teacher and asked when, where, how could become a yoga teacher. For the following two years, I went religiously every Sunday morning and tried most of the studios in Montreal without finding exactly what I was looking for. I bought DVDs, read books, followed yoga podcasts online but it wasn't until I moved to Virginia Beach to live with my husband that I found my first studio, Oceanfront Yoga, and seriously embarked on my yoga journey. Faith had its own plans for me as we moved to New York City just as I was to start my teacher training.

In 2010, after combing NYC for the Guru of my dreams, I found Yogi Charu - an incredible spirit and wonderful teacher. In May 2011, I started to most incredible journey of self-realization within the Savitri Yoga Shal teacher training. Starting as a clean slate, I learnt much about human nature, the universe, meditation, pranayama, traditional kriyas and the true purpose and meaning of yoga.

I graduated on July 17th 2011 along with 9 other  wonderful beings. I look forward to learning more about yoga and myself through teaching and the study of this blessed tradition.

See you on a mat!

Namaste.
